I need your help on making this decision

I currently have a 2001 mustang gt vert. It is a automatic with 84000 miles. It has a short ram and i just had a tune up done to it. I am looking at trading for a 1994 mustang gt vert 5 speed. It has 67000 miles and has the following mods:
4.10 gears
stage three zoom clutch
wet shot(60 shot)
1.6 roller rockers
newe timming chain
190 fuel pump
70mm throttle body
73mm mass air
e cam
tuned with 3 bank chip
24ib injectores
borla exhuast and headers.
styling bar
cobra hood
bullit rims
window tint.
the car has a salvaged title and is in mint condition. should i trade for this car?

honestly I wouldn't a salvaged car is not worth much especially a 94.

I had a salvaged bike. what a pita, esp. later when you wanna register the vehicle in another state. On the other hand, a salvage title car is a perfect racecar base..........

I run from a car when I hear salvage. Who knows what problems lie ahead....

My '94 GT has a salvage title. It was rear ended when the first owner had it in the late 90's. A mechanic picked it up and had the frame straightened professionally, replaced all the parts and added some custom paint. My friend bought it from him and added a bunch of stuff. Now I have it. I had it checked out by a trusted mechanic before purchasing it and everything checked out to be very sound. I had zero problems registering it or titling it. It has won trophies at car shows and has run as fast as 12.2's in the 1/4 in unfavorable conditions. The insurance company has said the car is worth more then double blue book.

I'd be weary of it. Ask to take it to a trusted mechanic to have it checked out first. If he says no . . . walk. FAST!! A car with a salvage title can be a great buy. As long as it was a quality repair.

thanks guys i appreciate it. the guy has agreed to let me take it to the ford dealership and have them run their test on it. and the salvage title is from a front end collision where only the front bumper and radiator support had to be replaced. The current owner bought it this way and has had no problems yet with it and he has had it for around 6000 miles.

I'd keep the newer car and its a vert so that makes it a no brainer.
How much do they want for the 94? Should be cheap since its a salvage title.

I personally wouldn't do it. You shouldn't have to many problems if it was done right, but who knows if it was. Taking it to Ford might help.

Those 94's can be bought for 3-4k with clear titles and more mods all the time. Your car is worth double what a 94-95 GT is going for right now.

Not a bad looking car but i would not even swap an 01 for it. Maybe that car and a few thousand dollars for yours.

ok thanks guys. im trying to convince the guy to trade plus 1500 cash. in all of yalls honest opinion do you think that that 94 will be fast? if so will it be faster than my current gt.

Thats a fairly good looking car. And he has quite a bit of money in go fast parts on it. And its 5sp. With lower miles than your car. So, ask yourself, why would he want to trade it for your auto, higher mileage car with no mods besides a ram air? There may be more to this than you think.

ye i thought about that. after i have the ford dealership look at it than i will make a decision. if it checks out clear than i will take the trade n the 1500. if not i will try for the trade and some where around 2000 for it.
