maybe you're driving the wrong car lol.

Never! Mustang or nothing. Gotta pay to play, ya know?

Then start paying and buy a usd T5 out of a junkyard for $150-$200. I put my new T5 in my Mustang today in my driveway. took about, 6 hours, but would have taken less if my original pilot bearing wouldn't have grenaded, and we had to drill it out(waiting on my drill battery to charge) car is good now... I got my rebuilt G-force for $600

+1

When something needs a fixin, fix it right... don't jerry rig it... do it right... Shorcuts are a waste of time and money...

Like already said, a proper transmission is not expensive... In fact, compared to other cars, they are cheap...

I found an ass ton of tranny's raning in price from $400-$1300. I have my old T5, it needs new synchro's for 2nd and 3rd gear, but other than that, it's fine(now that i yanked it) I think i'm going to sell the one i pulled as is, for $250-$300ish. syncros are only $15ea.

Woot! My brother and I successfully change my transmission over the past few days. It took us 3 days to do it, 6 hours worth of driving for parts, but she is done.

Anyone that puts in a 4cylinder T5, the pilot bearing your gonna need is a alternator bearing, haha.

but, I got the car done yesterday around 4pm. Drove it most of the night just cruising around being easy on it. From what I can tell, 1st 2nd and 3rd all seem a little shorter, which isn't bad.

Oh yeah, I drove the car 3.9 miles with open headers to the exhaust shop! It was awesome! :dancing6:

Wait a sec....

You put a 4cly T5 in that? I really hope you didnt... If you did, you better granny shift it, your running on borrowed time... Those trannies grenade when bolted to a 302...

Is that what you heard? Or from experience, because a buddy of mine has one on his 290rwhp notch and it is holding pretty good for a mid 12 second car.

shoot, they're even cheaper...

Depending on the area and whatnot, you can find them for under 300 bucks... I know theres a place round here I could get one for a steal...

Experience... I've seen it happen and I have heard of it happening countless times... in fact, there is a member on here that had one grenade at the track... He didn't know it was a 4cyl T5 in his cobra until after....

Sometimes, God gives you a gift and you are incredibly lucky and one will last... but even still its on borrowed time...

They don't blow up after 25 miles, could last a week, might last a year... But its not gonna be fun when you are stranded on the side of the road with a T5 jigsaw puzzle under the car...

If it can make it through winter it'll be ok. Until then, I'll continue doing what I've done for the past 4 days.

as do I.

I completely understand everything you guys are saying, but I'm currently broke as a joke. I don't get paid for another 2 weeks. Even then, I wouldn't have enough money for anything except another Mustang T5. I came from the 2.3 Turbo Ford area, these trannys aren't that weak. As long as I don't beat the hell out of it, and take care of it, I should be fine for awhile. Once funds allow, I'll definantly be getting another trans, probably a Tremec. Until then this is all I got.

Man I wish it was like where you guys live for T5s... You find one for a 94-95 its like you won the lotto. Then its usually 400bucks or fucked up really bad. Just dont drive around like an idiot (save gas too lol) and I think you should be fine until you can get a better trans. I know how you feel about the no money and driving a stang thing. Sucks completely. Hang in there.

Ok....listen, if you threw a 4cyl t5 out of a fox in there, your input shaft of the 4cylinder isn't seating in the pilot bearing (I.E. NOT STABILIZING THE FRONT INPUT OF THE TRANNY) and your're on DANGEROUSLY borrowed time....but hey, its your car....not mine
