I like sonic as it is a cool color to go with chrome, black, white or silver if you want a 2nd color in there somewhere. BAB look ok with black trim but not as cool as sonic IMO

I dont really see the reason for non factory since BAB, sonic blue, moonlight blue are all factory colors and awesome..

besides, most people think my car has been repainted an aftermarket color anyway

+1 I have decided I might just do sonic blue or bab...Anyone know how much those paints cost though..Im trying to keep it kinda budgety.
I got quoted for a full respray of BAB for 3500, but you can probably find cheaper. And you might be able to get the price down if you take some of the body parts off that was the majority of the 3500 they quoted me.

Well I was more concerned with how much the paints themselves cost, since I'll be doing this with my uncle.

depending on the paint brand/ color/ clear/ reducer/ hardener youll spend any where from 200 to thousands.

total amount i would have in my paint alone is about 400, but is mostly due to the amount i put on the car and pearl, the actual paint itself was only 70 bucks a gallon. (nason "black pearl" ... just a name, no pearl was in it, until i added some.)

technicaly i dont have any money in my paint... the pearl was left over from when my dad sprayed his 57, the black was a color i had bought about 1.5-2 years ago for the chevelle, but ended up giving the car to my dad, and he decided to spray what was going to be black, a green color, the clear was just left over from other jobs... all told, reduced paint and clear, there is about 3 gallons on on the car. (ALOT)

Bsn95 I like your paint, Im looking for something thats blue more often than yours is, I'm just going by pics but it seems like your car shows up as black more often than blue. But I am interested in knowing how you do your paint jobs.
its actualy mostly blue in direct sunlight... only black in the garage with very little concentrated light... pretty much every pic i take it shows up as a different color due to angle/ light. if your going to go all out, and do a complete respray, why go with a stock color? i mean, sonic blue is understandable, but bab isnt... you have the entire color wheel to choose from... pic your favorite.

prepare yorself for pic whorage.

ready?
