I was Quite Suprised...

jus got back from my buddies house whos dad has a 2002 camaro ss with about 400 hp and slp loudmouth exhaust. sounds mean and VERY LOUD. i was parked in his driveway and we both revved our car's...It came a surprise to me that mine was noticably louder and much deeper with the o/r x and magnapcks. Mine actually sounded much better than his and i thought it was hilarious considering that i probably only have about 250hp at the crank while he has about 400

is this as suprising to you guys as it is too me???

yeah he does have cats...but only 2 i think and he still has about 400hp lol thats a BIG difference...dude its a 5.7L LS1

dont forget an ls1 is an aluminum block which will give it more of a "scream" then a low rumble of a cast iron block

but still cats make a huge difference. tell him to take them off and it will be louder.. i had two of the small ones on mine then changed to a 2.5in x pipe with cutouts. and inside sounds good. but outside its so loud my rents can hear me from inside the house from about 1/4 mi away. with the cutouts off you can barely hear when standing beside the car. it hurts.

Doesn't surprise me, Fords always sound awesome and the LS1s with single exhaust sound like balls. Even some Corvettes with the wrong mufflers and/or offroad pipes just don't sound as good as Mustangs.

I had a clip of a GTO with a o/r prochamber and mac mufflers.. sound exactly like a mustang.

Being loud means nothing. I hear ricers that are louder than my car but my POS Exploder would destroy them anyday. My friends got a running 86 accord for free as it was a school shop project and cut the exhaust at the header(exhaust manifold) and it was louder than my mustang. Louder doesn't mean anything, it just means your more annoying to others on the road, I'm honestly thinking of getting resonators or something for mine because when it gets above 3k it gets really loud, but I always shift a little below 2k so it's generally quiet.

Doesn't surprise me at all... The 4.6/5.0 just has that unique sound and IMHO nothing compares to it.

It was funny, some of us from the local SVTOA were at a restaurant eating outside Saturday and we all instantly turned around at the same time as a newer '05-09 came rolling past at low speed, none of us saw it first, it was all sound and we all knew exactly what it was...

did i say my car is faster/better??? lol i think u need to re-read my first post. I was suprised that my car sounded louder than his even though he has LM1s. Of course his car is faster and deffinitily worth alot more its a bada** camaro. Im not hatin at all I wish i had his car...

a ford v8 normaly has a deeper sound than a Chevy v8. but that might just an op of mine.
