identify this engine noise

You can clearly hear it once i put the camera under. Its starting to annoy the piss out of me because the car sounds like a rattling bucket

Do you still have your smog pump? thats kind of how mine sounded before it locked up.

yeah i have the smog pump still. That could be a possibility

You could always just go get a small belt and put it on if it stops you will know for sure. Check it out and let us know.

The belt to bypass the smog is a 90.5"or 91".
You'll need to change the routing of the serp belt some but if you take your time you should be able to figure it out. Just make sure the grooved side of the belt goes in all the grooved pulleys and the smooth side matches the to smooth pulleys.
I made a diagram of the serp belt and rotation of accessories before I pulled off the origional.

Dose your check engine comes on when you bypass the smog pump.I'm still mostly stock.But cold air intake and pulleys

sounds like the thermactor hose has a hole in it. its common on cars with aftermarket headers. there is a hose coming from the smog pump that looks like a pipe drain trap. feel the bottom of it i bet there is a hole in it

This car has stock manifolds though, Would it still cause that rattling noise?

Take a screw driver and see if you can find where it coming from.

disconnect your belt and start it and see if the noise is still there, that would eliminate any accessory noises. don't do that for too too long now because it won't be charging the electrical system or pumping water but it'll be fine for a min or two.
