Last night I drove my mom to work. She came out and as I was backin outta the spot, I went from reverse to drive like normal and tried to go and the car stalled? I tried starting it twice and it wouldn't budge, put the car in park and then it started. This is the second time it did this, one time was bact in October. Could it be time for a new alternator or battery?

Are you saying the motor wouldnt turn over at all until you put in Park? if so it has nothing to do with battery or alt, it's the neutral safety or your shift cable needs to be adjusted

Is that the idle air control valve or somethin like that? Sometimes the car feels rough at idle, like bup bup bup bup then it runs smooth. Cars got 53,704 miles as of this afternoon

Yeah thats it. Id clean it first. If it clears up, then buy a new one because youll be cleaning yours again soon if not. And WOW on the mileage!!! VERY NICE!

if you have the cash to replace it, while you are in there consider doing the throttle position sensor as well as that could also be your problem and they get old/dirty. Its two screws right behind the IAC and also not something that will break the bank but can make all the difference. I was having issues where my car would randomly die while moving turned out to be dead spots in the TPS that it was not sure where the throttle was. You can test the TPS with a meter if you have one but if they are both really old lookin I would just swap them out now before they cause more problems in the future.

while your cleaning stuff, clean the MAF too. if you have a CAI, there is a good possibility it's deposited oil and dirt on the sensor.
