OMG I NEED TO SAY THIS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........... OK GUYS I NEED TO INFORM YOU ON THE BEST! BEST! BEST! SYNTHETIC ON THE MARKET. THE FIRST AND ONLY ONE YOU WILL EVER NEED MOBIL ONE EVEN COPIED THEM.... http://www.amsoil.com/ AMSOIL IS THE LEADER OF ALL SYNTHETIC OILS[NO OIL BASED PURE SYNTHETIC].. Sorry for the caps but it is well worth every dollar and is the best, read all the tech and specs on it. You can see from the tests with all other brands and even the best mobile brands dont match this stuff. i have a 95 gt with an auto and it went from mobile 1 with one lucas at 25mpg on hiway to amsoil and their filter to 28mpg!!! im not pulling your leg. They spend all their money in R&D not advertisment so they are based on reputation and its the strongest you will ever find. If your a mustang lover like i am you will run this in your baby. At least take a look guys this stuff is so good. My buddy has a 2.9l ranger 92 and has 370k on it did compression check it was perfect took the heads off looked brand new inside. Doesnt cause carbon buildup like OIL based products and can last for 25k or 1 yr per oil change no joke. Read the testimonials and if at all try it once you might not run anything else..Yes even better then royal purple. They make all lubricans for your car and are the best. :mikec:

that's interesting. Everybody always has an orgasm over Royal Purple. I've never used it, but I agree with 5.HOE, it'd be interesting to see a comparison between all of these.

We should write to somebody and tell them to do it...somebody that has nothing to do with cars, so they don't get paid off haha

amsoil has a places on their website you can send your oil be it clean or dirty and they will analyze it for you. They are not affiliated with amsoil just that amsoil will send work their way for unbias results to prove what their oil can do and their competition

We use Amsoil products in our race cars, and they have always worked really well. So I'm partial to them.

My dad and brother and I think uncle all distribute Amsoil. You can sign up to be a rep and make money on the side.
I run Amsoil through my car and most of my friends have switched to using it now

Amsoil FTW

Another good thing is Amsoil is one of the few companies that still makes oils (some of their lineup) with high levels of ZDDP in them. Most modern oils have removed some of the phosphorus due to emissions regulations (it's believed phosphorus can promote converter wear). ZDDP is your high pressure, anti-wear additive, and the lack (or at least minimizing) of it has people thinking that's the reason you're seeing more cam and lifter failures nowadays, especially on cars with flat tappet camshafts (older cars).

It's the reason comp cams released their new break-in additive no. 159, they actually recommend using it for the life of the car esp. if you're running a flat tappet cam.

The filter is equally if not more important. Amsoil makes very good filters, if you don't use theirs (don't have a close dealer or don't like getting online), WIX filters are good as well.

had an oil change done on mine yesterday and out w/ the Mobil 1 and in with the AMSOIL 10W 30. I believe it was $7.70 a quart at Napa, only place in town that carries it.

ive heard nothing but outstanding things about AMS oil so i dont find this hard to believe at all since they have been around for a while. A company that survives without advertising and based on reputation alone as the biggest form, is good to go

Eh...I can get 5 quarts of Mobil 1 for $22 at Wal-Mart. I know Amsoil is the shiznits but I can't justify the cost. Or maybe I can...not like I'm going to be driving this thing that much anymore... WIX(napa) filters are great and so are Motorcraft and the Purolator filters. Anyone running a Fram should be shot.

You should seriously look at how poorly Frams are built. They have a really flimsy anti-drainback valve, glued cardboard end caps, and a cheap plastic bypass valve. They're built like a Kmart special and cost more than a filter that is actually worth a crap. At best they'll do a sufficient job, which is why you've ran them for 10+ years with no problems, but the poor build means you're much more likely to get a filter that will give you it's worst and that can translate to mild or severe engine damage. There are 3 people I know off hand with lawsuits against Fram because of the filter failing, and I live in a small town. Oil filters are one of those things you don't really pay attention to until something breaks due to it, consider the best filter to be some of the best insurance money can buy.
