I love the stuff put it in my dodge ram 4x4 and with my tunner started to get about 18 mpg on an 01 with a 5.9

That is some killer gas mileage for a 4x4 truck!!!

Some friends and I opened up three oil filters to expose their internals: Fram, Motorcraft, Puralator. The paper filament in the Motorcraft and the Puralator trippled the materials in the Fram. The Motorcraft in my opinion was probably the most superior due to craftsmanship. I'm no expert, but seeing that convinced me that Fram wasn't worthy of my vehicles. If you really want proof spend about 30 bucks, go out and do the test yourself. By the way, I use K&N.

Which mobil 1 do you use exactly? How long before oil changes 3k?

I think most guys here run synthetic Mobil 1, but I use the Clean 5,000, changing at 3-4k.

I use Mobil 1 and I change it once a year every spring but I dont put many miles on it just under 2,000 last year so spending around $35 a year to change it is no big deal to me even though Im still under the mileage of what its required to change it.

It's not so much the quality of the oils anymore as much as the quality of the filter, although I do still believe that Amsoil has the best product on the market. No one has a better filter than Amsoil or Royal Purple's new filters.

I just switched my GT over to Amsoil 0w20 100% synthetic + an Amsoil Filter. I had considered Royal purple, but I couldn't find their new filters anywhere, not even from their own website.

As far as I'm concerned though, Amsoil is the best. My dad has used it for years with 0 failures, he even runs the large bypass system on his Dodge ram, changes the oil once every year or two.

Don't just take my word for it, look through this thread and see the difference in filters for yourself. http://www.silvermustangs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=155&t=9539

The Motorcraft 820S filters are great filters for the price. They have the bypass in a certain spot. Filters without it in that spot can have some noise on startup.

For all the oil info you could ever want or have time to look through, check out http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm

TONS of great info on there.

Personally, I'm running M1 5w-30 EP right now with the MC 820S filter. Might switch to Pennzoil Platinum or some of the new Pennzoil Ultra on the next change to try it out.

Amsoil makes great oil, but for much less money you can get an oil that will do just as good. Especially if you're not doing long OCI's on the car.

Re: IF YOU LIKE YOUR CAR!!!!!

i run motocraft oil and filter... I have never once had an issue with it and for the price, with over 200k miles and when pulled the engne looked as new as the day it was put together, everything was still withing spec with plenty of room to spare, its hard to justify... i have never run amsoil but heard great things... I can say that i tried amsoil fuel treatment with not so good results.. Lost about 2 mpg on that tank.. My .02
