I joined here a long while back and I havn't been too active.....I was planning on purchasing my uncle's 1994 GT....but it didn't work out and I bought a 1968 Mustang Coupe instead.......

I bought the car from a guy who works here in my hometown.....When I talked to him about this 1966 Fairlane for sale.....he told me that he also had a 1968 Mustang for sale for $3000......I thought that it had to be a POS.....But...I went to look at it anyways.....As soon as te guy opened the garage door....I said inside my head...."I just bought a Mustang".....The car is as clean as can be.....the driver's side floor has a couple small patches.....the trunk is solid.....there's a tad bit of rust in the lower quarters...and in the lower front of the doors.....but overall the cars is super solid.....

It has the 289ci V8 with a 3-speed manual on the floor.....the engine runs strong with no engine knock.......and it drove well after about 2 weeks of work.....

The guy included about a thousand dollars worth of free new and original parts.....All the brakes (drums) are rebuilt and I put on the included stainless steel brake lines.....new gas tank with a new sending unit....new stainless fuel lines.....and newish radial tires....(got rid fo the bare bias ply....lol)

But......Here is my photobucket album so that you guys can take a look.....http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y13/fatman2k4/The Stang/

Oh.....and.....I'm only 17 and I bought the car for $2800......hehe

Cool, I helped my friend restore one 66' Shelby GT350 clone. Talk about a PITA. But good luck with the build should be fun.

Good luck with the rebuild. I would like to get an older mustang like that someday. Post up some more pictures as you start fixing it up.
