Feels like a new car again, my GT has almost 99K and was still on the OE struts. I have no intention of lowering or suspension mods. If you're in that boat, too, Gabriel Ultras are a great strut that restores OE ride and handling, and they're relatively cheap in a sea of Kill Your Butts and Bilsteins. Paid $100 for the pair.
I wouldn't touch them if you're lowering, but for stock replacement they are excellent. I drove my father's '04 GT when it was almost new (back in 2005) and the ride quality/handling is right around where that one was.
Replacement was straightforward and with air tools, took about an hour. Thinking end links next. Ball joints/outer tie rods most likely in spring.
