i've been looking at different intakes for my car, are all the elbows the same? will different throttle bodys cause clearance issues. Also i was looking at the ford racing cobra replica gt40 intake, will that with the elbow fit no problem, i know the actual 93 manifold need a bit of adapting to work will this one fit with just the elbow? thanks

as far as I know, when I was shopping around for an intake, the 93 Cobra intake will fit with no problems including the elbow, but I came across a 95 Cobra intake and it was even easier to install.
I would suggest you wait a bit more and shop around until you find an intake for a 94-95 Cobra, no elbow needed and it also looks real good... performs really well too!

add to that the price of an elbow adapter and you'll be seing the $700 mark.
I did a quick search in ebay and here's a 94-95 upper & lower intake manifold, no elbow needed, might be worth to take a look

As far as I know the 93 cobra manifold when using the elbow will hit the strut tower. I picked up a 95 cobra manifold and I love it.

93 or the 94/95 will hit the brace due to the "BUMP" in the intake just before the TB would connect or the adaptor. I would stick w/ trying to find a 94/95 b/c an adaptor will run you about $109 unless you find a hell of a deal on a 93 intake

well the edelbrock intake and the holley intake both need the elbow as well which is what i was originally thinking about, which i would need a new strut tower brace for anyways, im in no rush to do this im just looking at different options for right now, that manifold is significantly less then a holley or edelbrock, and "is good for up to 350hp" which is all i want my car up to anyways

if you go w/ one that needs the adaptor then just look for a used intake, you probably be able to get at least $100 off a used intake then you break even.

like i know their would be a noticeable difference between the cobra and a edelbrock, but isnt it the heads that would be the biggest thing?

pretty much. It goes both ways, a friend of mine had a 92LX w/ the cobra inrtake E303 cam and Trick Flow heads w/ a 76MM HP turbo and was putting down 478 at the wheels. Im not saying the Intake was making a good chunk of the power but it was part of a pretty mild combo putting out really good numbers.

If the Edelbrock is what you really want go with that, don't "scale back" on your original plans b/c then you will end up second guessing yourself later on. Its better to have to save a little longer or hunt a little deeper to get what you really want then to settle for something else.
