So I got a hood clearance question. Currently I run a TFS Street Burner intake manifold with a 1" nitrous plate sandwiched between the upper and lower. I also have an absolutely nasty looking home made hood scoop on an OE hood (it came like that) and I'm wondering in an OE hood will work or do I need a cowl or something to clear the intake. It looks like it would be close and I don't know what the bracing is supposed to look like under there.

I wanna get rid of my craptacular hood and looking at a OE looking carbon fiber one. I don't wanna plunk down the cash for a cf hood if it isn't gonna fit. So anyone know if an OE hood will work with my setup??

It probably won't fit unfortunately. You will need to look at a cowl of some sort. There is a cf cowl if that is really what your looking for.

Thanks. I tend usually to build my cars to be more or less sleepers hence the OE cf hood idea. I have nothing against fiberglass just wasn't seeing any fiberglass OE hoods. Regardless of what material hood I get it will be painted the same color as the rest of the car.

If you want a fiberglass stock hood...go to a body shop and buy one.

I bought my full fiberglass 96-98 cobra hood from a body shop for $150

I'm not looking for anything in particular. Just wondering if a OE hood would fit on my car.

I highly doubt it.

My GT40 intake just barely misses the Cobra hood, and that's without a spacer.
