Whats a good upper/lower intake for my set-up, besides GT40 that will fit under the strut tower brace?

I think a trickflow does if you're running stock valve covers. There's a strut tower out there thats made to clear aftermarket intakes, but I cant remember where I saw it.

bbk makes a 3 point unit that fits. I was set on getting one to until i put on full length sub frames from lmr. i took some very sharp cornes and tight turns to see if i still needed one. no problems what so ever. my car is lowered 1 1/2 inch. i have all trick flow equipment on mine. they were also able to align my front end with out after market caster camber plates. i have 18x9 cobra rs on my gts. i run 235 40 18 michelin pilot sport 2's. i want to run mine out at road america that is why i am building my car. i thought that this might help.

Don't work around a stock strut tower brace.

Get a good manifold.

Maximum Motorsports Strut Tower Brace will clear it! Thats what I use. :thumbsup:

Well if you looked at our sigs you would see that both of us use GT40 intakes on our 347's

Really though on a mildly modded car like yours the GT40 is the best choice IMO, but if your set on something else you could get an edelbrock performer or trickflow street heat both are good intakes. :thumbsup:

I just can't seem to find any GT40s around here. How is Professional Products? I know just doing the intake is pointless and you need supporting stuff like a throttle body. What would be a good size for my set-up? Any other support mods for the intake?

go to the junkyard and find a 5.0 explorer/mountaineer, theres ur gt40 intake. intake isnt pointless, i made 260 on a dynojet with close to ur mods and a professional products intake.

I didn't mean its pointless, was just saying its better upgrading the throttle body and was wondering if there is anything else I should look into upgrading when I do the intakes.

70mm TB would be a good addition, look on ebay for a gt40 intake keep in mind that if you do the explorer intake you still have to buy the elbow, Professional products intakes are chinese I assume your talking about the typoon right, they are decent if you port match them, I've not personally had one but from what I've heard the castings are a bit rough. iirc it's a knock off of the edelbrock performer. :thumbsup:

a bigger throttle body is worthless without an aftermarket intake. I had a 65mm professional products throttle body and elbow. You are correct, they are chinese Edelbrock knock-offs. Mine was box stock, and I dont have any complaints about it. Infact, that upper is going onto the 351 turbo project. decent intake at a great price.

Will any elbow fit the GT40 or is there a special one?
