Hey guys, my idle air control motor is dying on me. I wanted to know if there is a difference (if any) between the one cor the 96-04 2V GT's and the 99-01 4V Cobras. I think they are the same on these years. Can anyone confirm this???

Thanks

yeah, there is a difference. the DOHC version doesnt have the tube that goes from the intake tube to the IACV. instead it has 2 open ports underneath it vs just 1 that the SOHC version has

Does the DOHC one still bolt up and plug in the same? Would love to get rid of the air tube when I build my CAI

yes, it still bolts the same, and still plugs in the same, but it wont work. your car will die as soon as you turn it on.

ok, take your IACV off, and flip it over. see the hole/opening, where you can see the rod and spring inside? see how there is a second hole that was never opened, its still cast shut? the cobra's, in lieu of the tube that goes to the intake, have the intake manifold that has an internal cast routing to the intake, and have that second hole actually open.

if you use the cobra IAC valve on your 2v, the IAC valve will have nowhere to get the air it needs to keep the idle, and thus your car will shut down.

Exactly the info I needed. I new that it can be bolted and plug like the 2V, just didn't know about the internals.

Thanks man, really appreciate it
