J&M Adjustable LCAS

I'm thinking about buying these...

They look like carbon copies of MM pieces to me?

Does anyone have anything bad to say against these?

The price savings is semi hefty and their website seems to preach the "axle-bind" theory if yo use solid or delrin bushings in the UCA's/LCA's...

Thoughts?

Just for the record, my car currently has Bilsteins/H&R Race/SFC's and I'm just looking on getting a little bit more handling without having to go Panhard or Watts Link...

The J&M LCA's are a good product although adding them is going to make it feel looser in the rear than with the OEM LCA's. There is no good substitute for a panhard or a Watts link. Much more predictable handling. I added the MM panhard kit before I ever purchased the LCA's. Took 11 hrs. to install it by myself. Worth every penny.

For the street, stick with the OEM UCA's or the FRPP pieces for good axle articulation. The stiffer adjustable UCA's are only good for drag racing applications.

Hmm so the only benefit these will give me is better launches?(don't care for that anyways)

I don't plan on touching the UCA's because i know that making them "stiffer" on a street car will mean poor axle articulation like you said...

I guess getting them is worth it to be able to adjust ride height then?

I'd love a Panhard, I'm just a little weary of doing the install though...(I'm mechanically inclined)

You just have all the tools needed, take your time and check off every step (34 I think) installing the panhard. I read through the instructions 3 or 4 times on MM's website and on AM's site before I ever even ordered the kit. That gave me a little different perspective on the install. In the end it really needs to be tack welded to the frame, at least on the pass. side. It also will transfer some axle noise to the chassis due to the use of the heim joints but not too bad.

I have never heard of aftermarket lca's make the rear loose. Mine feels much more planted.

3 years ago I called MM about the LCA's before ever buying anything. It was one of their "techies" that told me about the issue. So..... I guess ya kinda have to take that with a grain of salt depending on bushing materials & such.

IMHO, Ford should have never built these cars w/o a panhard of some sort. I'm still not too keen on the Pinto style fuel tank set-up either. I find myself watching the rear view in traffic a lot.
