A little more work than expected. Damn perches that hold the frame to the body are rusted, most bolts that held the body to the frame snapped when we tried to take them off, but its all good.

Good luck dood. You know you'll be running into alot of the snapping bolt tricks.

nice project. lots of heat and then cold water will help break them free instead of them just breaking.

Really like at dealer cost? I dont really need anything, plus they say it :angel4:s most expensive to replace a jeep part with another jeep part ha.

That's what I'm looking into, either a rubicon or bds kit and 35s but the tires on it are still decent for now.

What are your plans for the build?

I wanna do a 4" suspension lift with a one inch body lift, 35s, 4.56 gears, locker in the rear and a limited slip in the front. As for the little things I want to get a winch, lights, exhaust and better carb. Later on I want to swap in a 350 sbc.

save up and do all suspension no body lift.

I am not sure if I will get knocked or praised for saying this. I just am not a fan of body lifts and friends of mine who put them on their jeeps said if they could do it over, they would just do suspension.

Yeah I am doing a suspension lift too but I'm afraid of clearence issues. I'm not a fan of body lifts neither but 1 inch isn't gonna be that bad.

Your gonna have plenty of clearance with a 4-4.5" lift, trust me.... my buddy fit 35" tires on his, no problem.

Well right now I dont know what Im going to end up doing. The frame is in worse shape than expected. We welded new perches on the frame tonight and found some cracks in the frame and the previous owner(s) did shitty job trying to box the frame in. Dont know what to do at this point, dont really want to dump alot of money into it if the frames in bad shape. :BangHead:

That will be a fun build Fetz,

do you know the term Fish plating the frame?
basically putting an angled piece on the top and side of the frame to reinforce it/make it stronger.
you could fish plate the crappy parts of the frame and rebolt/weld it on for relatively cheap if doing yourself.

A 1in body lift is not that bad. 4" body lift would be different but that 1" shift shouldn't be an issue.

Be careful, you don't want it ending up like my brother's CJ. lol
