So I have a 95' Cobra. The mods are listed on my profile. I just upgraded to the proper 42lbs PMAS MAF and 42lbs fuel injectors. For the most part everything went smoothly. Now that everything is done I went through the proper steps. I started the car, fired up on the first turn of the key. Obviously it took a moment to adjust idle. After about 10 minutes the idle was perfect. I back up, drove around my neighborhood, at first a hose came lose and it started backfiring rapidly anytime throttle was applied, fixed that issue. No more backfiring.
The car is driving descent considering it has not yet been tuned. It does occasionally cough up a very quiet pop (backfire), and I obviously dint want to jump on the gas till everything is sorted out. The time I went half throttle the car hesitated badly, sputtered, and I quickly got off the gas.
After coming to a stop the engine rested at about 1800rpm and stayed till I shut the engine off. Started it back up, took a minute to find idle and is now idling funny.
Question being. Does it just need a tune or is there more to fix before throwing money at a tune? Keep in mind that after having heads, cam, intake, supercharger, and all the basic bolt ons - it was tuned but with 30lbs injectors and a 24lbs injector with some mafia chip connected to the MAF to "fool" the computer into thinking it was the proper MAF. Was a horrible tune I might add.
