you have to take weight into consideration.

you were able to beat the 05' mustang and the GTO but you weight alot less than both those heavy ass cars.

weight can be the winning factor

A friend of mine ran a motorcycle dyno for years, in the amount of time i spent there i found out one thing, all dyno's measure differently, dont worry too much.
The measure of a dyno is this, if you can use the same guy, you take it when its stock and he gives you a reading, say a 100hp, you shop at summit, spend a few k on parts, take it back and he tells you its a 150 unless you had it done there and there's no visible increase?.
I know a few wont agree, but i've seen this, a guy had some runs at Matts dyno on his R1, well happy with the figures, moved down south, had it dynoed and got completely different readings, in fact much lower, on another dyno you might see 300, or more, plus you have air temp, and lots of other factors, you know it pulls well, thats the main thing. :thumb:

YES, then GTO has 350HP at the flywheel, not the rear wheels!!! If your car is getting 263rwhp, then add 20% for drivetrain loss...

What are the spec's on the cam and the heads? What's the intake port volumes? The shorty headers will yank you down a bit, especially if you've got a hotly built engine.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Dyno numbers don't really mean much if you're winning races and going fast at the track.

Lunati states that cam is for the 2,800 to 6,800 RPM range. Did you get the valve springs to go with this cam? That is some serious lift and duration. Your engine should do better with that and the heads you've got. You will definately see an improvement with a good tranny.
You should also look into getting soem better headers to help the engine exhale. What rear gear have you got? You'll need something to help you get off the line.

Unless the gears are grinding against the case, or there's some major binding issues, then it's not going to have any effect. The clutch, however, would. If it slips any, you lose power.

Judging by your RWHP numbers, i'd say that you are at about 310 hp at the flywheel or so. 60 - 70 hp is a lot for bolt on parts, with a stock shotrblosk, i'd say that's in the ballpark for what you would gain, maybe on the low side just a litttle bit, but in the ballpark.

the gt stock was rated at 215, so lets say with your mods you are at 310, about 100 hp for hci is about right. take away 15% for drive train loss and that takes you to 263 rwhp.

something is off....... look at the mods in my sig, 300 hp, and we pretty much have the same combo. i have trickflows
stg 1 it (h/c/i) something seems off, but there are a lot of defining factors in dyno tuning.

Paul.

Im going to preach what has been done to me ( about my less than average L numbers) I agree with Paul, the dyno is a TUNING TOOL ONLY, get the car to the track and see what numbers you get out of it.

I've heard people had to use a cherry picker and lift their engine up to install headers on the 4.6. I haven't done it on my car but it doesn't look like there is much room at all... idk tho someone correct me if I'm wrong
