i hear about all these ppl removing accessories off there motor for power...is it honestly worth it. i mean if you get an electric w/p, remove p/s, smog pump and a/c with underdrive pulleys on the crank and alternator. would you really make that much more power or would your motor just rev up faster.

depends....

older hot-rods only have a H2O, ALT, and Crank pulley.... ..

its not really worth it on Daily Driven cars... but if your car is mostly a track-only car, than yeah. the 10 HP off the water pump, the 5 HP off the rest of the accs, and the .01 second off your time might be important.

Everything the engine is driving costs HP so for an all out race car it makes since. and you have to think about the weight savings too.
But for a car you want to enjoy daily, I just can't see the need

I kept my EGR, got rid of smog pump and hoses, REALLY cleans up the pass. side of the engine back and makes getting to the spark plugs and anything on the pass side 10x easier!

Would deleting an EGR even do anything?

And +1 to keeping the A/C. While I don't typically use it, it is perfect for those really hot days that is just unbearable.

It throws a CEL, I know that much. Honestly, if you MUST have the engine spotless, it can clean up the tube that runs from the header to the egr valve. Other than that, nothing that I can think of off the top of my head.

No, SMOG doesn't hurt anything, and the EGR actually helps the tune and the fuel mileage.

People always remove smog because they think it's some kind of "free mod" but it doesn't do anything but fvck up the tune (specifically when you remove the EGR) and make the car run worse. The 94-95s are finicky about removing the EGR. We've been over this about a billion times in the 94-95 tech section. Let's not beat it to death any further here.

If you have a built motor, and are getting a tune to switch it off, then perhaps it's reasonable to remove the EGR. However, all these dumbass kids that go yanking it off because they think it's a "mod" - that's just stupid.
