Guy came and looked at my car, and loved it. He was going to buy it the following week for 9300. Well 2 days before he is supposed to come pick it up, I go to start my car and I push the clutch in, turn it over. LOUD squeeling noise and vibration coming from the clutch while trying to start it. After the car is started it goes away. Well i take it for a spin and the clutch looses pressure, and the car wont go in gear. Somehow I manage to get it into 2nd to get it home.

FUCK.

Maybe its god telling me to keep the car.
But is it the throw out bearing?

the throw out bearing shouldn't stop you from being able to put it in gear. but it is probably the squeeling sound

So what would cause the clutch pressure loss, and it not being able to go in gear?

what do you mean by pressure loss? are you talking about the clutch pedal, or did you get under the car to actually check to see if you can move the clutch arm by hand?

Well I mean pressure loss as in its really easy to push down, and almost like it wont come back up. I don't know a thing about tranny's and or clutch's.

Your clutch is operated by a cable. Look under the dash to see if the cable is broken, that us where they usually break.

easiest thing to do would be have a friend to push your clutch down and look under to see if the clutch fork is moving. if the fork moves when he pushes the clutch pedal in you probably have a bad pressure plate. if the fork does not move the you sir are in luck and only need a cable. good luck!~!

I took off the cable cover on the tranny and found shards of metal everywhere. Lets just say I wont be needing a new cable. My throw out bearing more than likely exploded.

That just happened to me. I hate to say it but it prolly ruined your clutch, bearing retainer, TOB, Fork, Pivot ball, Pressure plate ect. Thats what my damage was.

It sounded exactly like that javi but it only made the noise while I was starting the car. And yes, the cable is fine, as is the quadrant. What is making the clutch petal lose is the cable is loose due to the connection on the trans.

Lets start making a list of parts I'll need because I AM keeping the car and its getting built.

That's exactly how mine started and then it just exploded.

TKO, shifter, aluminum drive shaft,26 spline clutch, fork, SFI bell housing, flywheel a new TOB. Oh and don't forget 3 - GM 12345349.

Is the clutch cable actually moving the clutch fork? If not, the cable is stretched or broken.. If the cable isnt broken, and you cant disengage the clutch, your pivot ball probably broke off.

the fork moves freely. The car will go in gear and out of gear just fine when the car isn't started

how big are these shards of metal? The tob isnt going to break into a bunch of tiny peices. It should break in half and there should be ball bearings laying in the bottom of your bellhousing
