okay, I want to get a whole new exhaust but I'm putting all my money into the camaro instead :/ .

so I'm thinking about just changing my mufflers, which one would be the best one to get for my car, since it's stock,

I know tons of people with just mufflers and their exhausts sounds so hollow and watery and pingy but all sounds pretty bad and not very loud, i want a sounds that sounds badass and DEEP, my stock exhaust actually sounds pretty good, i think the ppl before me changed ti once before but idk.

so I was thinking so flow 40's or slp's(but they're expensive and I think they'll be too loud, plus idk the diff between lm1 and lm2)

or shoudl I just wait to upgrade to a flowmaster american thunder or something like that?

LM1's are straight through, no packing. LM2's are cherry-bomb style. Flows will drone with the rest being stock. I would recomend a magnapack, or other straight through, maybe a borla stinger.

they sell complete flowmaster catback on ebay pretty cheap, less than $250 i think. if you dont want to spend that much i'd say just get some flow 40s

Yeah, they are. Basically though, look for a straight through, not a chambered.

Then again some people don't hear or like the drone..

i got magnaflow xl turbo mufflers before i got my o/r h-pipe. they sounded ok but now with the h-pipe they sound a million times better. i say get some mufflers and an o/r x or h pipe. that should get you the sound you want.

I <3 flowmasters on 2V cars.

....Yes Flowmasters do drone with Stock midpipe at around 2,300RPM.....but you have a O/R Midpipe then the drone is gone, and if you have gears then you are never in the "Drone Zone"

The mid pipe is the key. I had them with stock and it droze me crazy, I welded some super 40's in with longtubes and a offroad mid, and it was sweet.

But he is just doing mufflers only, so straight through is best for him, IMO.

is a "drone" that hollowy watery sounds I'm talking about?

what I think I'm going to do is just replace the mufflers with lm1's or super 40's or a glass pack(is the brand "thrush" good?) and punch out 2 of the cats while im under there.

i like to buy stuff at a parts store instead of online because I don't have a credit card. would I be able to get a new midpipe at advance or something?

No, that is a burble, lol. The drone comes in around 2200 rpm cruising, and goes buuuuurrrrrrrrmmmmm buuuuuuurrrrrrrrrmmmm buuuuuurrrrrmmmmmm over and over again until you want to open the door and jump out to escape it.

hey reality gt, i think you would be happier with just changing the midpipe to either an offroad pipe or a highflow catted pipe so you can pass emissions testing. you will notice the power difference than just changing the catback and it may be a little cheaper.

aarons car sounds pretty decent with the stock catback and an offroad x pipe.

Thanks! but keep in mind that it's a PI motor as well. So unless he plans on doing a PI swap it will sound alittle different.
Here's an NPI with JUST an O/R X:
