So I'm looking at getting a new set of rear tires for my car and I've decided on getting the KDW in a 295. Does anyone know what the difference is between the KDW vs. the KDW 2?

Pretty sure it's only the tread pattern. I have the traditional treads, KDW's on now. Going to get the new treads, KDW 2's, when they wear out. In the 275/40ZR17 size.

The KDW2s have better wet traction than the regular KDWs...and the tread pattern looks awesome on the KDW2s

Hows the wear on the KDW? This car is my daily so the longer they last the better

I'm not really good on this part. I make a point never to spin out my tires. I think they have been great. To me, peeling out is just throwing $ down the drain. I'm dead a*s broke! Let me figure up what I driven on them for ya.
I got them on 6/5/07 @ 119.675. On 4/30/10 I had 131,971 miles. That's 12,296 miles.
Plus. I don't drive mine that much. I've rotated them once. I really don't know the tread depth, I do have a ways to go on them.

On my last 3 rides, I've had BFG's. 2 sets on this Mustang, just went from 245 to 275. I love them!

Oh yeah, I use mine as my daily driver as well. I just don't have a need to go anywhere!

I got a set of KDW2 tires when I bought my cobra wheels. To be honest I'm not too impressed. Sure they look kinda cool, but the grip is not all that it could be, and one big downside is that they are really loud at some speed. Sounds like I'm driving a truck rather than a passenger car. They are expensive as well, which makes them a really poor value for the money

I have KDW2's on mine. They were rated much better than the KDW's, I'm pretty sure thats why they came out with the 2's. There are at least one other KDW, but I forget what the rest of the name is. They put them on the Shelby GT 18" wheels, and the California Special 18"s. The KDW2's are definitely noisy, but if you have exhaust on your car, you might not notice so much.

I was also thinking about getting the Nitto Invos. Anybody know how these compare to the KDWs?

No but I have a set of Invo's on the way. If you have 18's you will need to buy your 265/35's from an ebay store. That size is on back order with no eta of production. I bought mine from here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/265-35-18-NITTO-INVO-2-TIRES-35ZR18-97W-UHP-NITO-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2a06f5edaeQQitemZ180505406894QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#payId
You can call them @ 877-544-TIRE and tell them to match the ebay price with free shipping to pay by card. I spoke with Kareem(sp?) earlier today, cool guy. They will ask you for the ebay item # (180505406894). Because of all the noise complaints on the KDW(2)'s I skipped them and the Invo's are around the same price with just as good reviews (every one says they are quite).

^^ Those are the tires that came stock on my brother's 08' California special, they are good tires but don't stand up to constant tire spin(I dont think any tire does really lol).
