Well most of you know my car. I have a 1998 v6 mustang coupe. from the pictures you can see it has gt badging, as well as the rear bumper. now i have gotten lots of complements for the car and lots of looks from people. At the same time, i have gotten lots of Bulls//. from people that my car is a v6 with gt badging. Now if i were never to open the hood or start the car. you would never no the different. I do not let people believe it is a gt. When they ask i tell them it is only a v6, and i have to prove it to them. All of them say damn that v6 runs hard lol

But i am starting to get tired of receiving crap for it from friends and other auto enthusiast. So my question to you guys, should put a none gt bumper on it and pony badges or should i leave it? either way the motor will not be staying in there for much longer.

This topic of discussion always results in flames because one group of people will say, "It's your car, do what you want. If you want to put GT badges on a V6, whatever." Then the other group will say, "Why are you putting badges on your car that aren't correct? What's the point? You're making us look bad! Wannabe!"

But since you're asking for opinions.... I'll be the first to say that personally, I'm against misbadging cars.

personally i think the gt on the rear bumper makes it look more badass in my opinion.

Your car is very clean and it does indeed look badass... But, I still feel that our cylindrically challenged brothers shouldn't bear any GT or cobra insignias. Just my personal opinion. :)

Your car would still be SICK with the mustang rear bumper and pony emblems. You can put a cobra front bumper on but once you start putting fake badging better watch out. People be askin' all them questions!

I wouldn't worry too much about it because if you like it that's all that matters.

I'm against mis badging as well, but if you're doing a v8 swap soon anyways....

Your V6 is cleaner than most GTs I know from around here. If you feel like you're cheating or something another idea is to de-badge the whole car.

I'm also agianst misbadging the car too.
But your car is super sharp as it sits. and since the 6er will getting pulled soon.....
BTW 94-95 Cobras and v6 use the same bumper.

Shaving all the emblems would be sick too

You do realize the fender badge says 4.6 right? Also, you claim you don't let people believe its a GT, but it has GT "written" all over it. I don't understand the desire to put badges on a car from the next level up. You want people to think its a V6, put the pony and other bumper back on it.

Engine swap something radical in there, like 4V long block or just put badges on there that doesn't represent the gran touring platform like upgraded V6 badges.

Get an npi shitbox for cheap and throw it in :) then go easy on it till you can afford an 8.8. Or have mass fun and blow up the 7.5!

Just de-badge it, then when you put a bigger motor, put the badges on. If you want to impersonate a GT you better run like one even though their not that fast anyway lol.

Iirc, didn't you say the reason the GT badges and bumpers are on is because you got the fenders, bumpers, etc? I don't think you're trying to pass of as a GT. Your car is exceptionally clean and I personally never really thought oh wtf does this guy have GT badges on a sixxer. It's your car, do what you like. People are always gonna hate on cars no matter what, mostly because their jealous or just douchebag's in plain english. I vote for tribars on the fenders or debadge it.
