Hey guys and gals, I wanted to ask you, and especially those who own a vert, if keeping the top down in the garage while parked is a bad idea and hard on the top itself? I've noticed that if I go a day or two with my car parked and top down, I see a few "creases" in it.

My stang is not my daily driver so I can go all week at times without driving it. Probably normal but thought I'd ask all of you knowledgeable members here. :book1:

Thanks in advance...

/Steve

I would think it would start to show wear on the areas that the creases are in left down for long periods over time. Now if its a cloth top like the cobra i don't think this would happen.

I never had a problem with the year i owned a Vert. Now it was always garage kept. I would put it up about once a week or so and let it sit in the sun. But i never had any problems with mine.

Eww no. Thats inviting every type of garage animal in easily. I know vegas has lizards... and my garage is full of crickets and grass hoppers.

I mean if your garage is bug free than go head.

Seems safer to keep it up than down.... wouldnt risk it personally.

The way i saw it being a Vert was if they were going to get in they were going to get in. I would rather them take a 100 dollar head unit then a 600 dollar top. whehter it be leaving the top down or the doors unlocked just my .02

if you keep it down over long periods of time the cloth will contract and it wont fit all the way up anymore.

To remedy the situation, simply leave teh top as far up as you can put it, trying to re-strch the fabric back out....

i was told that the top could crease a bit and the areas around the rear window may loosen over time.

For a long period of time, no.

For stort times (1-2 days) yeah sure, why not!!!! I leave my windows down on my Coupe while its in the garage sometimes to air out the car and get that fresh smell back!!!!
