I just bought a new keyfob off of eBay. Part number F8DB-15K601-BA on the new one and FCC I'D GQ43VT4T on the old one. Both are set for 315mHz but for some reason the new one will NOT program to my car. I've tried have a dozen times and if my knee wasn't giving me fits it'd be half a dozen more. Anyone have any ideas? Otherwise I'll have to send it back.....oh well.

First we need to find out that the fob you bought works. unfortunatly with no led to light up on the remote the only way I can think to test it is at autozone if you lucky. They have a battery display that you can put your remote next too and then push the button and the display will light up if it works. Confirm it works and has a good battery in it before you do anything to the car.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I bought a new battery for it after the fob arrived in the mail today.

doesn't matter like I said unless there is an led on the fob flashing to show its working you should first confirm that the remote is working before you mess with the car. There is still a chance you bought a bad remote or it was broke in shipping. If you do have an led flashing on the remote then I will need to know what brand it is as its not a ford factory piece, they didn't have leds.

Nope, no LEDs.....I don't think the AZ near me has that machine anymore but I could be wrong. I hate AutoZone and I make it a point to avoid this one. Everyone in there is a dumbass.

I know I know but I really do not have any other way to test the remote. I mean you can start tearing into the car and see if everything is connected but if the remote is bad its not going to buy you anything more then a back ache possibly 2 times if you have to do it again.

Well, the original remote works fine, so I'm going to say it's an issue with the new remote....

double check the battery is in right but if you have done the proper program sequence and its not programming then yes its probably a bad remote.

How did you program it?

Turn the ignition on, Jumper the pins, let it lock/unlock, hit the button on the remote, it'll lock/unlock then turn the key off. The old remote will program ok but I've got nothing with the new.

then its either a bad remote or they are not on the same system. Like I said the only place I know to test them is those displays. Its not like you need to talk to the people other then to have them point at the battery display. just hold the remote up on the target and push the button and it will tell you.

Yea, I'll probably swing through there tomorrow and check it out. The fob part number is a year newer than my car but I don't see why that wouldn't work when it operates on the same freq.

Remote wasn't the right one for the car. Sent it back and got another with matching numbers to the existing and all is well. It's nice to have your keys attached to the remote.
