kind of dissapointed.....

So I was on my way home and I see these bright ass yellow fog lights pulling up behind me. Im thinkin it must be something or other, because a normal person driving a toyota camry wouldnt have those stupid lights. Anyway, the car pulls up and it turns out ot be a primered up, black wheeled, work and progress looking 240sx. I know I shouldnt have, but I did anyway. So the first time we were just kind of playing around and he pulled on me pretty well. Now I'm thinking to myself, I dont think a POS 240 just did that. So 2 or 3 miles down the road we get to another straight. We go and this time he really gets me and I'm not about to catch up. Despite the fact I was granny shifting, I really dont think I would have gotten him. When we were done the second time though I knew what was up, I heard the BOV and I realized that was turboed abd prbly not close to stock, but now I really want that procharger....... :rant2: :knuppel2:

yea, people generally dont even bother driving 240s without a turbo anymore haha...

seriously...they all seem to be engine swapped and turbod sitting on the ground and shit.

But 300 hp 240 will beat your NPI stang every time

I had an old stripped-out 300zx with a turbo pathfinder motor and 23 psi keep up with my 418 ci convertible. I have a good video of it.

apples to apples...go turbo and try him again :whip:

whats done to your car?i raced a turbo 240 when mine was stock and beat him by the front bumper. His HAD to be heavily modded. Were you guys rolling or digging?

I have a 4-valve not a NPI, we were from a roll both times, about the same speed both times, like fifty or sixty. I was not balls to the wall powershifting or anything so that probably would have helped alot. Like I said I just didnt expect the car to be that quick. As far as performance goes I just have a cat back exhuast with an O/R x pipe and a k&n airfilter with a sniper tune. I stuck with him at the start but he pulled away pretty quick after that.

You're welcome to come by and watch it though. It was three runs from a roll at progressively higher boost levels. (for him) He had racegas and everything - it was pretty funny. On the final run he started to pull me when we shut down, and he blew a turbo manifold gasket in the process. :hammer:

go gears and a tune!! and its very likely he played you from his favored roll...you know how ricers like to roll from gay numbers like 24 mph, 61 mph, etc. Leave the rolls to the bakery...4.10's would be a nice addition to your car, as well as ANY stang with a stock rear end gears. Just remember though a roll will be to almost ANY ricers advantage, due to their low torque levels and lighter weighing cars. A dig wouldve been much different IMO. The only imports which are sick from a dig are the awd's (sti's, evo's, eclipse gsx,)

The ricers only have the advantage when they have a better power to weight ratio at higher rpms...

all thier horsepower is up top so they can actually go somewhere...they dotn have enough torque to get moving though.

^ better said...i didnt mean they ALWAYS have the advantage, but thats where theyll usually want to play you from.
