So I came across a hella deal on some 90 degree vertical doors for my car. How do you all feel about the possible ricer-ness of that idea? Does anyone have them on their black stang i could see some pictures of? Opinions welcome.

The only american made car that should have louvered fenders is an 87 GNX

so you are saying that a lot of the hotrods, ratrods, ect. ect. are riced out for having louvers in the fenders and hoods, my father had a 55 nomad that was louvered and looked pretty sweet, before i sold my truck i was thinking about trading for a 67 chevelle that had 4 rows of 10 louvers, 1 on each fender and two in the middle of the hood, looked badass

Those vehicles were louvered by hand and it was the mark of the era and the roots of hot rods. To run out and buy fenders stamped in china to minimic a mid level sports car made in germany is indeed RICE.
My statement still stands, the only american made car that should have louvered FENDERS was the 87 GNX. btw, the rat rods don't have louvered fenders, its typically the side cowling thats louvered.

so your saying if i got my stock fenders stamped then its alright cause it would be done by hand but buying fenders that are already louvered is rice, and im pretty sure the APC fenders i have arent made in china, im thinking they were made in canada but im not positive, and ive seen a lot of ratrods with louvered fenders, mainly on the cars from the 50's

Unless you're in a wheelchair... don't put them on a Mustang.

I think anything that doesn't make me go faster, stop quicker, or turn better is rice. This includes headlights, taillights, hoods, door handles, shifter knobs, and any OE/replica type wheel that isn't clearing 13" or bigger brakes.

But that's just me, if you want Lambo doors, go right ahead and have Lambo doors.

butt hurt much? rat rods look like ass, they are the new rice. its a project that is cobbled together and serves no purpose other than to surprise people when it doesn't burst into flames after the key is turned. i misunderstood and thought you meant real hot rods, like fenderless '32s and vickies w/ flame jobs. you can go poke holes in your fenders up in calgary or in tiananmen square, its not going to make it look right. the guy came in here asking for opinions and he got mine. I on the other hand never asked for yours but since you offered it to me I'll let you have mine right back. A shelf full of real carshow trophies in my game room tells me that I know what looks good.

I think cars should look good AND run well. I don't mind a clean looking body kit and nice wheels on a car that can "back it up."

Which brings me to my point, your opinion and mine differs, but it's neither one of our car's... It's his and his opinion obvious differs as well.

To the OP, do whatever you want to your car, paint it pink and put Barbie stickers on the side for all it really matters, it's yours, do whatever makes you happy. modifying your car to fit other peoples ideals is silly.
