Leaky water pump

One of the main outstanding issues on my Mustang is a leaky water pump.. drips coolant straight out of the bottom. The problem was I couldn't get the right bolts - I don't want to admit it to myself yet, but I think I need to get a helicoil repair kit and get threads into the 3 bottom holes of the front timing cover, then bolt it down.

Here's my question. Are the threads for the water pump bolts in the timing cover? Or through the timing cover, and in the block. I can't get the bottom 3 bolts to grip correctly, so i'm wondering what the best way to go about fixing this would be. It's a pinhole leak - silicone might do the trick.. but i'd rather have bolts if I can. I stuck about 6 inches of threaded rod in there though, and one of them just grips absolutely nothing. I managed to make decent bolts for 1 of them, but the other really long one just won't hold onto ANYTHING in there.. and it's causing it to leak.

See the picture

Any ideas?

Discovered I didn't have the bolts going through the power steering pump bracket and into the cylinder head.. and it was pushing the water pump out and away from the front timing cover.. that explains why it was leaking :lame:
