Hey guys, I was just wondering whats your thoughts on the 90mm Lightning MAF. Good/Bad expiriences? Is there a horsepower or RPM range limit? They are readily available used and relativley cheap, so that is why I was thinking about picking one up. Thanks.

I bought have had mine for almost 2 months now but I got it to match the 4" anderson power pipe I also got which moved it up into the fender. Don't forget that you will need a flange to mount the filter to it($40-50) as well as an adaptor hrns($55 at am muscle or go to your junkyard and cut the hrns off a f150). I spent almost twice as much on the accesories as I did on the maf but I would like to eventually go turbo so this will all work with forced induction as well.

ah forgot that too.......... They only seem cheap on ebay until you add up the little items. But they are great pieces for both natually asperated as well as forced induction motors. Worth it IMO if you plan on throwin some boost at it.

Awesome, thanks for the info guys. I didnt even think of the bell or harness adapter. I'm building a 306/turbo motor that will be run n/a for a few months, so either way I'll be making my own CAI.

overall they are great. once you hit 500ish HP you need a MAFia.

past 600/650 you need a better MAF.

Ya I would asume the L-Maf would be ok in a blow through application since Lightnings are supercharged from the factory, but then again I've been fooled before lol. I'll ask my tunner about that part.

Hey Chris, whats the difference between the Lmaf and 03cobra's? I'm not worried about going over 500hp, since I'm running a stock block. Later down the road If/when I want to step up the power I will more than likley get a better MAF and stronger block. It would just be nice to be able to save a couple bucks now for the time being.

if you are going turbo check out the anderson power pipe. It moved the maf into the fender to keep it in cooler readings and is a really well built seemless piece.

Lightnings are supercharged but the blower is after the MAF so it's not in a blow through application.
