there is Nothing CHEAP about Flowmasters.... they are a quality Product with Many Imitations on the Market.

The reason the Flowmaster Catback costs less then a Magnaflow or Borla is because those companies use a Higher Quality Stainless Steel to make there product, that is all.

IMO, its a waste of Money to Buy a Polished 400+Series Stainless steel exhaust because nobody sees under the car anyways..... Plus unless you live somewhere with MAJOT salt on the road from Snow then its not needed.

Flowmasters are cheap because they SUCK! You told him about swapping the entire catback out, well, whats the point of upgrading to a 2.5" exhuast piping if you're going to put flows on it, only to restrict the flow by a muffler with all those baffles?

ANd sound clips can be misleading on the internet... I thought LM1's weren't that loud, but they are. Have Jerry put up a vid of his car starting... That emmits a loud bark that WILL set off car alarms.

Aaron actually has a vid of his car with a stock catback and offroad mid pipe, sounds pretty good to me.

offroad mid is gonna be louder than you think, i love mine but your parents will hate yours, lol. but hell, there is a reason i run a UPR o/r x with dumped LM1's... :hammer: i am the neighborhoods alarm pretty much. i leave for work at 6:50 so just in time to get them up, lol

is it gonna be ALOT louder than if i bought one catted? I've been looking at a vid of a 99 gt online with a o/r bassani and magnaflow catback and it sounds pretty tame at idle not loud at all but when he layedinto it it sounded really good, judging by the second video is where i kinda got idle/ driveability

just get a loud setup and drive it calm and tame around your parents =]

anything with an o/r H or X with macs or flows will be loud. If you want the o/R pipe than get something like magnaflows and itll be tame.

I'd get a catted X just so you don't have to worry about emissions plus save the planet. As far as loudness goes an offroad X and LM1s is actually quiet at cruising speeds.....but when you put your foot 1/2 way to the floor it will honestly scare people who are expecting it. I have heard a lot of setups and a catted X and LM1's is perfect for me and is pretty rare. Everyone jumps on the SLP farting trumpet bandwagon but have never heard them on a catted midpipe. Just as loud as an O/R H and Flows except legal, I've passed emissions two years that I've had them.

If you don't care about saving the planet, because the whole global warming thing is a crock of shit, Go offroad pipe... I've got an O/R Mac (MAC sucks my balls) and a dynomax catback, but i'm going to be swapping all that out when the money comes for a full pypes exhuast save for the headers... The Violators are pretty loud at WOT, but stock sounding at jus cruising with a nice throaty roar. I can't wait... it'll be louder and have that better exhuast tone.

kk I think I'm gonna get what i said before, the magnaflow weld in's to the stock catback and get a o/r bassani x.... i'd get catted but it's SOO expensive like $499 .... lol.... I'll get the muff's while the x pipe is in the mail.. maybe this time next week :dunno:

do you guys really think it would be tame enough so that when i drive normally it's not really loud, I almost want it to sound stock up until like 2000 rpms then be loud.
