i have a 96 GT. right now the car has dual 2.5" with o/r X pipe and flowmasters. should i get shorties that bolt up, like stock so i wont have to mess with the exhaust? or long tubes and the just have conecting pipes (to X pipe) rans at a muffler shop. would I have problems with groung clearance because my car is lowered w/ ford racing springs. what about fitment. and are LT's that much better?????

long tubes are that much better and you should be fine..

MAC long tubes are great regardless of what anyone says...they tuck way up in there higher than my mufflers of mid pipe.

You will see more benefit from long tubes but if you are going with a turbo in the future it'd be a waste.

look into either mac or hooker... i've read that other brands lke slp and bbk you have to remove the passenger side header if you ever have to do any transmission work of any kind i might be wrong though but hooker and mac tuck up in there great like Justin said.
