I would say longtubes everytime...I switched from shorties to longtubes and the difference was pretty amazing. A lot more down low. If you are slammed though you have to think about clearance issues too though. But from a pure performance stand point. LONGTUBES FTW. My MAC's are ok but next time I'd go with something different. Kooks anyone??

Longtubes make more power. Shorties are easier to install and easier to work on.

@WOT and above 4,000 rpms they really is no difference between the two as far as hp/tq making goes. Below that long tubes make more power. So if this is for a street car LT all day, if this is a drag car shorties are an option.

Do you have some evidence to back that up? That claims seems a bit far-fetched to me.

Like I said if your living in the higher RPMs there is little difference putting around town at lower RPMs LT make more.

Interesting. I'd like to see some more testing with exactly the same combos on an engine dyno before drawing a final conclusion - but those results are suprising to say the least. Thanks for the link.

Overall that dyno graph shows the LTs being better performers than shorties, which is pretty much the general consensus for any LT vs shorty comparison.

The dyno shows LT out performed shorties bellow 4 g's but above (exactly were the motor stays duing the 1320 run) there is a no real difference in hp/tq.

As would I, but so far thats the best side by side almost identical combo dyno graph I've seen.
