Looking at an 89' LX

Hey fellers, tomorrow ill be looking at my 3rd car for a project, an 89' LX roller. From what I know it's got everything except ecu, motor and tranny. I've never actually worked on a fox body and was wondering what I should look out for in regards to wear and tear on a car that old. Also he's asking 800$, seem fair?? I was thinking maybe 500-600$ ish. Let me know, thanks

Rust! Check the shock towers, check thoroughly underneath it, rockers, kick panels... All the shit that rusts real bad. And also check for accident fix spots (like mine has hot glue spots all over under the hood that I had no idea what they were when I bought it...), and that will help make sure your frame is straight. Aside from that, as long as it's not all dinged dented and scratched to hell, that's all you should really have to worry about when it comes to a roller man.

Open the doors and look by the hinges, seen a few with holes rotted. Also crawl underneath and look behind the bumper covers at the bumper supports, check to make sure there not bent or crumpled up at all.

Unless it came from another part of the country, rust is not a big issue on CO. But check it out none-the-less. Look under the doors for paint bubbling, sign of bad window seals. Under hatch area and mounts can see some rust as well.

Is it originally a 5.0? Depending on your plans for it, it may be worth a bit more. The 5.0 has different (better) brakes, suspension, rear end, and gauge cluster. Also if it has engine wiring and a ECU.

3rd project?!?! How do you do it? I have 1 and can't seem to ever get anywhere with it!

Purchased the car @700. The car is fricken clean, the interior looks like it just came out of the factory, too bad it's red. Even better to spice up the deal he kept throwing in sn95 parts haha... "Hey here's a tail light I'm not gonna use" or " you need a driver side fender?" Lol! Ill post pics tomorrow, I cannot wait to get going on it.

Was it an original 5.0 car or a 2.3? Also, does it have a sunroof? Crawl underneath, take pictures of the torque boxes, post them here and I'll give you the good or the bad news

It's a true. 5.0l car. I'm going 5 lug on it too. So that stuff would be worthless to me. I have an 8.8 out of a fox already on the side of my house thanks though. Pics soon my dads going to pick it up now since I'm at work.
