loose wobbling steering wheel

my steering wheel on my 98 mustang is wobbly. I removed the airbag (already blown from a minor passenger fender bender) and the bolt is tight...what could it be? its not as real bad woble but its enough that i notice its loose. Any ideas?

worn tie rod bushings, or other front suspension bushings

that would cause the steering wheel to move up and down even if the car is standing still like the bolts loose?

loose rag joint? get an allen wrench and tighten both bolts on your steering shaft. there is one under the dash, and one connecting it to the power steering rack on the front suspesnion. tigghten both of those. inspect your rag joint. it is a big, rubber knuckle in the middle of the shaft under the hood. .. .. make sure its not going out.
