1.) My car's fuel pressure has been..lets just say a nightmare. I've put it at 42 psi off vacuum..and the car doesnt run right. So I upped the fuel and it seemed to run better..but then would still not be quite right. Then I'd back it down..I cant seem to get it just right. Maybe its timing related? It used to run absolutely fine with like..62psi (on vacuum) which I know is waayyy too high. I'm almost positive I have stock injectors (other mods in signature)..What else could be causing this? It smells rich as hell..which is obvious as to why..But it I have it at 42 off vacuum it backfires..which makes me think its lean?

2.) I went out as I was trying to tune the fuel pressure and was romping on it a bit..Then tried to go for third and it wouldnt go in. None of the gears would..Tried backing out of clutch and going in but still nothing..So i clutchless shifted towards my house. However the clutch started working again. Is it possible it just got hot and wouldnt engage? I imagine thats a sure sign that its going out then..?

3.) I had a buddy offer me a tremec 3550 tranny (as I think mines weak, possibly on its way out..) complete all the way with a pro 5.0 shifter for 700 bucks..worth it? He said it has 2-3000 miles on it.

If I have others Ill post them..thanks

if everythong fuel wise is stock , leave at the stock setting. If it stiil runs bad , then the problem lies elsewhere. The timing on a stock 5.0 HO is 10 degrees btdc. Make sure if you try to set the timing u pull out the spout connecter. If your not sure how to dont mess with it cuz you could do more harm then good. You might outta take it to a tuner shop and see what they can figure out.

My buddy is coming down next saturday to tinker with it..I just thought it was odd that when it was at 60 ish psi on fuel pressure it ran fine..maybe not to its full potential but it was mostly stable..
What could be the problem? Timing too advanced?

Ever consider gasket failure. My 5.0 had the same problem and a timinng chain both head gaskets and a blown rear main seal later I'm finally making progress. If your timing isn't too advanced like if somebody messed up you could have a fuel jector or spark plug problem.
