over this winter i think ive decided to put on a short throw and lower my 98 gt,, since i wont be driving my car much, i figure ill have plenty of time to put on the springs. My question is, what is involved in putting on the lowering springs. is this somthing i can even do on my own on jackstands, or shoudl i just have them professionaly installed. Ive heard taht it can be done without a spring compressor, just more time consuming.

the rear springs were really easy, just support the control arm with a jack and unbolt it, then slowly lower the jack. the spring comes straight out, then just repeat backwards for install.

for the fronts, unbolt the strut from either the top (under the hood) or from the knuckle. unbolt the sway bar and the steering rack. if the car is high enough, you can push the control arm low enough with your foot and the stock one will come right out. no need to use a torch or anything.

it is, its just that no matter what, it still has that level of danger that people often dont want to deal with. if you have basic tools you can do it easy in a matter of hours.
