I am pretty set on the catback I want to get... I have dumped magnaflows right now but those are goin. I want to get a mac cat back (http://www.stangmods.com/MAC-Exhaust-p/00416-tk9624.htm) but I was wondering if there is a mac catback that is stainless, or if the basic "bbq" rust proof paint stuff would be sufficient for a long time. Thanks for the help.

thats pretty much how all the new mac catbacks for the Mustangs come....polished tips and the rest of it is in that black BBQ style paint. From the cars ive seen, it seems to hold up pretty well....

like I said, MAC changed the coatings from the dull silver to black. Now what you got, could possibly be a kit that has been on someones shelf for a long time.

Who did you order it from?

All things aside, its just a color change....doesnt affect anything.

I think its opposite (could be wrong). I think mac used to coat their products with the black paint but no longer do.

No, MAC did coat their catbacks and mid-pipes in that dull silver (since they've been around till about 2003?), then switched to black... I remember the first time I saw a catback for a foxbody from them when they started painting them black, I was like WTF is this shit?

I personally prefered the way they used to make catbacks before they switched to black and came out with their "adjustable" tail-pipes.....

Now, if they have switched back to painting them silver again, that would be news to me.

My old 92 Fox had a silver Prochamber.

The Prochamber on my 95 that is roughly a year old is black.
