you shouldn't need any gaskets except for maybe the o2's. everything else is ball socket therefore no gaskets or donuts. i can't about the mac piece, i have a bbk catted h with no leaks. the h part of the pipe does have a muffler clamp to hold the 2 halves together. as far as the color is the silver one stainless, ceramic coted, or alumnized?

silver is cheaper and aluminized...thus this one will tend to rust out more...
the black is HTS coated and willl help prevent the H from rusting...

also on the 96 the driver side is ball and socket, however the passenger is a flange. make sure to get some high temp silicone. the gasket is included with the H pipe.

as for the 2 peices thing, the actual one you get from mac for the 94-98's is a left and a right...they join at the crossover.
the one your looking at (im fairly certain) is for a fox-body

hope this helps

i have a take-off mac catted h-pipe. i used high temp engine paint on it. i bought it used and cleaned off the rust. it still looks the same as i first cleaned it up accept the cats were scrapped, (thanks badblack chris's driveway :knuppel2:). :happydrunks:. on subject though id coat it if you get the silver one. the ball and socket ones work well. only gasket is the passenger side and use a little copper rtv for insurance.
