you would be better off replacing the deck and the speakers, bypassing the amps at the same time. The speakers use an odd impedence which makes them hard to match. If you swap the deck it is easy as it could possibly be to bypass...

Honestly, swapping head units is all that I found that was needed to achieve great sound. The stereo in our cars were WAY better than most in cars in 1994, the Mach 460 was still used in the 2003-2004 cobras too I believe. Try a different head unit first, makes a world of difference :).

then it is no problem. Make sure the deck is wired to the bypass hrns which is right next to the deck, and then wire the 5 x 7s using the wire from the tweeter as its signal wire.

You can talk to the guys at Crutchfield. They have a great website, and their tellephone tech support is excellent. They can tell you exactly what you'll need. Anyway, our amps do have a different impedance (4 ohm instead or 8 ohm, or vice-versa), so if you wanna change the speakers, just make sure you get the right impedance. You can find them easily enough. I do agree that the factory speakers and amps are pretty decent, so just changing the head unit does wonders. It did for me.

Look up Crutchfield.

I was considering getting a new headunit in the Bullitt. They came with the 460 with the 6 disc CD changer so i was thinking about going to a dual din Alpine INA-W900BT with all the boxes (bluetooth, IMPRINT, HD, etc etc) and I wanted to upgrade the speakers as well at the same time and I figured I'd have to get a new AMP to do that as well. I'm not trying to jack the thread but haha if anyone knows they can just PM me directly.
