How did you wire it up? Did you bypass the amps?

Pretty sure you need the other harness, I bet you just bought the 1 harness, huh?

no sound means something else is wrong. by chance did you connect the decks remote turn on(blue/white) to the hrns's amp turn on(blue). If you did check to see if you have voltage on this wire.

That $40 hrns is ok if you do not plan to do anything else to the system but if you are like most others and want to add a sub or some speakers it useless.

did you connect the blue wires?

I show how to integrate into a mach system on page 2 of my cardomain page ride# 2395420

How is that harness useless with an amp? i have an amp and that harness?
You need to bypass the OEM amps, or wire each speaker directly to the new radio, which won't really work with a mach 460

I just took it out today nd noticed i have the correct harness but coming from the side were the power, constant and ground is there was a blue wire with a white line, typically a remote turn on for a amp, well i connected it to the REM wire on the headunit and wolla!! it works great, you can tell the amps are on cuz at like 10 vol there loud as hell... Ive heard if u crank it too much u can overload the amps but Im not crazy with my music.. Now a new problem, since ive owned the car its had crazy noise interference with the engine, or now my droid cell phone... My friend said it was the factory ground, so when i installed this stereo I grounded it to the metal frame behind the stereo... still the same thing.. But just like before its not always making noise when the motors running.. what the hell could this be???

Its a bad ground somewhere, or a plug wire arcing or something.

So, you wired your radio to the factory amps?

What that hrns does, it take the output for your radio, which is amplified, and then knockes it back down to an rca level. The factory amps then take that signal and then amplify it adding a whole bunch of factory amp noise as they are just barely good enough. The problem is that every amp adds noise. So when the first amp adds its noise, and then gets amplified again you are amplifying the first amps noise which means that it starts to distort much much sooner then your aftermarket amp that is going straight from the rca's. To compensate for this the only thing to really do is to tune the gain down on the aftermarket amp, which means you are not getting full use out of it.

That hrns is a waste of money because you could have hit the standard ford speaker hrns(70-1770 for fdo2b) that is right next to teh radio for $10 rather then $40 and got much much better sound. I show how to do this on page 2 of my cardomain page. I promise you that you will get better sound if you bypass the factory amps, hit that hrns and then turn up the gain on your amp. You will need to add some 1000 microfarad caps to take the bass out of the 2.5s but they wil play better then before.

I know, and the gain on it is probably set to less then half so that it will match the performance of teh stock amps. If you bypass them the way I show, you can turn the amp up as well as the regular volume because you are not making all that noise louder now. It makes for a much cleaner and louder system......

I have been doing this for 15 yrs, I had the 2nd SN95 in town back in 94' and know the mach system inside/out because of that car and my buddy's. I swear if you trust me you will be happier......

Well, i'm an audiophile myself.
Why would i want to turn the gain up louder on my amp?
The higher the gain, the hotter the amp gets, and the more distorted it will be.
I like my bass to just fill in with the music. I don't want some big booming system. I'm not 16 anymore lol

My stereo sounds perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. Plus i don't need bass blockers or anything for the mids/tweets in the uppert portion of the door and rear deck.

There are more then a few ways for distortion and noise to get into the signal. It can be added from an amplifier that is being over driven from the gain being up too high(which I am not recomending) but it also can come from a low powered deck that is being over driven because the amplifiers it is hooked up to are not doing enough work. This signal sent to the amp will start to distort or clip, and then that is amplified. Am I right that the gain on the amp is up about half way and that when you just get the sub to start to sound good the tweeters are already screaming bloody murder from the noise comming out of them? All I recomend doing is bypassing the tweeters amp and letting your high powered deck send 35-40 watts to a 2.5" speaker with no bass in it.

Just for kicks, go and set the gain on the sub amp about 2/3-3/4 full and then see what you get out of it, You can then reduce the bass in the rest of the smaller speakers, which will allow them to play what they are designed to. Now turn your deck back up and just imagine that the highs could keep up with that sub? I am well out of my bass-phase too an into my 30s, I am not trying to get you to impress any teenagers just get the most out of your system.
