Made a few steps forward!

So since I had the day off yesterday, and it was in the 70's, I decided to try a few more fixes that I read about here. So I removed my throttle body, EGR, IAC, TPS and MAF. I cleaned out the EGR, which didn't seem very dirty... cleaned the MAF, which didn't appear to be very dirty either.... didn't do anything with the IAC, and sprayed out the throttle body tunnels for the EGR, IAC and TPS. I also damaged the TPS getting it off because of a screw that stripped out because it hadn't ever been removed. So I had to run to three different parts store's to get a new throttle body gasket, EGR gasket, and TPS.. only to find out that the new TPS did not come with new screws... so made a trip to the hardware store to replace them. So overall, something that should have taken about 2 hours, ended up taking me almost 4 hours!

With all that I went through, it was definately worth it! The car accelerates like I expect a 5.0 would! The fuel mileage almost double. I was burning through a 1/4 tank of fuel every 30 mile's. Today, I went about 70 mile's on just under 1/4 of a tank! I couldn't believe it! I am not sure which, or what combination of yesterdays tinkerings did the trick, but it was worth it! The car accelerate's, and still gets decent fuel mileage! I did a couple of 0-60 hard accels, during my 70 mile trip, and still did not burn 1/4 of a tank! I was excited!

what you clean them with? and if helps that much then im gonna do the same tomorrow.

I used a MAF cleaner spray from Autozone for the MAF, and I used brake clean on the EGR, and throttle body. Like I said, I also replaced the TPS. My car has almost 160k mile's. Although it has been well maintained by the previous owner, those item's all appeared to be stock. Next, I plan to replace the factory cat's with a catted X-pipe and the upper and lower intakes with a Cobra, or GT40 set, maybe 1.7 rockers too. Just looking for a few extra ponies.

yeah my cars a 95 gt with 112k. do a catless x pipe and do away with ur smog. all together takes about 7-10lb off and adds a few hp. not really noticeable but its there. i just picked me up a set of gt40 upper and lower intake for $100. tip top condtion too.
