ok, so I was wondering first if it matters on a MAF if you have an auto or manual trans.( I have an auto) second, could I cheap out and buy a stock 94-95 cobra MAF so I could run 24lb injetors? I belive the 94-95 cobra's run 24lb/hr injectors but not totally sure. can anyone shed some light for me? anything would help.

The MAF is strictly part of the car's air/fuel system, so having an auto trans won't affect it at all. As far as my knowledge goes, the 94-95 Cobras ran with the stock sized 60mm MAF that was factory recalibrated to run with 24lb injectors.

In my humble opinion, I recommend you go with an aftermarket MAF because they have a bigger diameter, which helps a Cold Air Intake system to work better, allowing more air to get to the manifold faster. They are also easier to tweak if you have other mods, or if you want to change your injector size.

My stock MAF blew out a few months after installing a BBK CAI on my 94GT. I replaced it with a C&L 76mm MAF (~$300) and the difference was like night and day. Huge improvement in power and throttle response.

Hope this helps.

You'll be fine with 19's. 19's will support upwards of 275HP.

you wont need 24# injectors b/c your not making that much power yet and you dont need a bigger mass air meter b/c your not pegging the voltage on the stock meter.

94/95 Cobras do use 24lb injectors but they use the same MAF/Calibration as the GTs. The Cobra's computer is what allows the use of the 24lb injectors, NOT the MAF. Again, the Cobra MAF has 19lb calibration.

Edit: stock MAFs are 70mm.

I just broke down and bought a new set of 19# injectors. I'll just have to pony up some more cash for 24# and maf as soon as I can find a set of heads.

I'm going to put +1 for not needing 24#ers yet. Until you do a H/C/I combo and get more airflow you will not need any more fuel or even a larger MAF/TB. If you are running stock heads with no work then it doesn't matter how much air or fuel you try to shove in it, it will not take it any more than the heads will allow to get in.

Why did you buy another set of #19's?

so are the stock gt and stock cobra both 70mm maf's? autozone has a different part number for the cobra. if its bigger then could I get a stock cobra maf and run it with my 19#ers and be ok if its calibrated for 19#???

They should both be exactly the same, they probably just charge more for the Cobra ones lol. I know for a fact the Cobra MAF is calibrated for 19lbers and i'm almost positive they are both 70mm.

If i was doing over again I probably wouldn't change my MAF until i did a h/c/i swap and tune, I'm honestly not a pro though so somebody else with more experience should chime in.
