MAF screen

i was cleaning my MAF and that screen fell off. I didnt bother to put it back on assuming that it doesnt matter?

That screen is in there to smooth out any turbulence that is before the MAF sensor so you get an accurate reading. On the fenderwell kits the curve that goes into the fender really screws up some cars. I ended up taking my screen out for a while, but it's back in now. I didn't notice any difference either way.

I have no clue but did you at least put the black rubber seal ring on there? or is there a massive leak in it :dunno:

naw i was talking about the op in that "it fell off" the screen is molded into the black rubber ring and without that ring there there is a ring size "hole" around the maf where it bolts onto the air box. LoL i tried the no screen thing and took it off and crunk it up and it wouldn't hardly run so i went up under the hood and said o shit... it was going wooooooooooooosh sucking in air around it. so ye lol.

i didnt use the rubber ring. I just said screw it and bolted it back in without it. Im gonna put the rubber back on tomarrow, it seems like a good idea. :hammer: thanks guys

like yikes lol... hope it didn't suck in a bunch of dirt and stuff... yea just check it out and see if you see the gap lol

no gap, and i put my hand down there while i tugged on the throttle cable and i wasnt feeling any sucking. Im gonna put it back in anyways, the rubber ring that is.


oh and i definently suggest that ppl clean their MAF cause it fixed my rough idle...so i got that goin for me lol
