well. ... without seeing it... id say go to autozone and get your CEL scanned for free. while youre there buy a can of MAF cleaner.

sorry amigo. without seeing it its kind of hard to determine a problem.

did it run fine before you cleaned the MAF witha Qtip?

hm. strange. #1 that your autozone is red-neck enough to sell scanners but not to have one to use, and #2 that you re-cleaned it and its still acting bizzar.

My two (wallet friendly) suggestions:

#1: wait overnight. if your MAF is wet it will send bad signals. (imagine putting your hand over a hot-burner. hot, right? now imagine putting your hand over a hot burner with a wet rag wrapped around it, not so hot, right?) the alcohol or CNC may still be present on the MAF sensor and the air isnt penatrating through the fluids. also, i suggest unplugging the battery and zip-tying the battery cables together overnight.

try and start it up tomorrow morning. Prime the fuel system a few times before cranking it (turn key to "on" wait for fuel pumps to prime, then "off", then "on" then "off" do that 3 times.) try and start it up and let us know what happens.

#2: clear the battery as i described in #1. call friend with 94/95 mustang to come over and "hang out"... borrow his MAF for 10 minute test drive to see if its your car, or your MAF.

You don't need a scanner for an EEEC IV. There is a sticky on pulling codes without a scanner.

Your going to be counting flashes or beeps one or the other. I got the scanner from when I had FOX bodies and it is only a toner with a fancy light. I would lend it to you if you were local to me.

Use the sticky and count your flashes. Noone is going to hand you the answer on a silver platter. If your to lazy to diagnose it then dont mod a car, plain and simple.

The ford OBDI scanner is really cheap. I got mine for under $30 on amazon. You should have one of these REGARDLESS just buy one. All the discription for the codes can be found online or in a Haynes manual. There are sticky threads as well but can't remember if it was here or another site.

If your not willing to pay $30 for a scanner then stop doing minor mainentence yourself. Sure you didn't break/ bend/damage a MAF wire?

I know this is kind of obvious and maybe you did it, but did you check the connections again. I cleaned my maf once and I forgot to plug it back in and then started the car. It ran pretty crappy too.
