ok am thinking about buying a short block, 96-04 Mustang Boss 5.0L Engine Block, Cast Iron, how much hp can this block hold???and also when do i need to start using the arp studs like the hp range that regular head bolts would fail. was also gonna get the 600hp street fighter kit from chp and i was wondering how much hp it would take to put like 500 hp to the ground and how much would that be to the crank?? any answers would be appreciated. was gonna do this and put the on3 performance turbo kit on it and will the kit i want fit in the block i want? what would i have to do?

if i were you, i would just buy a shortblock from www.modularmustangracing.comhttp:// contact them and tell them what you want and they will build it.

and as for the question
"i was wondering how much hp it would take to put like 500 hp to the ground and how much would that be to the crank??"

it will take 500hp to make 500hp.

500 crank horsepower would make around 425 or so horsepower to the wheels.. someone correct me if i'm wrong

but by the way you've asked these questions i kind of get the feeling that you need to do A LOT more research on different set-ups, tech info, and general overall knowledge of building a car.

for the heads and cams i would hit up modularheadshop.com talk to nick..

thats what he said he was going to do in the post above yours.

anyhow. the link you posted is for a rotating assembly, i didnt look at which one, but its not a block.

i would look at MMR shortblocks and Nick's (modularheadshop) headwork and cams.

what is your goal, i'm assuming your are N/A, do you plan on keeping it that way or you going F/I... you will never see the need for a forged bottom end with a N/A mod motor in my opinion.

ok srry i had to split up the 2 links i have the lmr link is for the block i saw and thought would be good for my motor and i was going to do the on3 performance turbo kit so thats why i was going forged. the rotating assy is good up 2 600hp and i want to put as much to the ground without going over that limit of 600 hp to the crank.

As far as the On 3 performance 2V kit the block size does not change (I belive) but it would not be enough to have an effect on the kit.
