started today.. and ive only noticed it in the past hour. i went to taco bueno, which is like 1.5 miles from my apartment. i was in the drive through window and noticed when i gave my car gas it didnt want to rev up and i almost stalled.. thought it was just a one time thing, kinda weird. well then i was leaving the parking lot and my car almost died again and jerked really bad, then i drove it home normally.

well i was about to go to the gas station just now, about 30 minutes after i got back from taco bell and i started driving down the road. about 1/4 of a mile my car was surging like crazy. i mean it sounded like i had the biggest cam ever in my car. so i turned around and barely made it the 1/4 mile back. i could not even get up to 2k RPMs or else it would surge insanely bad.. it was throwing me into my steering wheel it was doing it so bad. so i had to just hold the clutch in and rev it a little to keep the car rolling..

i just thought of this and have had no experience with it before. but could it be hydrolocking? i do not have my fender liners in my car and i have a fenderwell air filter. it is POURING down rain right now with a good amount of standing water.. could this have anything to do with it? its running pretty fucking bad.

haha my dad called me yesterday from texas and said it was pouring, he was rather pissed to hear how good our weather was. If you dont have an inner fenderwell, im sure your car is sucking up water if its raining that hard, im sure you will find out though when the rain stops, if that was the case.

check your vtak actuator. might be stuck open. relube your power output shaft and spin your heat manifold shield.

you might want to clean your UDFH sensor and realign your throttle bearing sending unit.

dont worry about the water getting in the motor, a lil is allright, but if you drink the shit you will be buying a new bottom end.

hah yeah dont tell me i will be needing a new bottom end... ughhh haha.. but its not hydrolocked or else my car would not be running. im thinking the filter is just to wet or the MAF sensor caught some water.

Did this to my buick, I got all new plugs and air filter for it, used an air compressor to blow out the intake tube, maf, etc, and the heads where the plugs go in.

Most likely water got up into your engine bay and into your spark plug holes. Pull the wires and check for wetness, if so dry them off. Then check into each hole without removing the spark plugs and get a screw driver and a towel to dry out any that are wet. I'll bet that's it. And as others said, check your airfilter for wetness. If it's wet your MAF may have gotten wet.

If all that doesn't fix it, look for vacuum lines that may have come loose.

i haven't tried fixing it yet, ive been pretty busy and haven't needed my car so its been sitting dry under my car port at my apartment. it idles just fine, just when i try to give it some gas, it doesn't like it at all.

i will probably fix it today or tomorrow, depending on weather. or at least try and find the problem.
