finally got in touch with salesman. he is calling the pre owned car manager as he had the day off then he is calling me back. i decided to get an autocheck subscription (similar to carfax but supposedly better) and i found a few problems.

it was lemon lawed 10/18/02 and then had an accident 8/10/05 left front, airbags deployed. the asking price is 12995 no way in hell im paying that knowing this. once he calls me back im going to tell him what i found and see what he says. talking him down to 10k and maybe we will see. im going to go over the car very well before i think of buying it but it is a 7hr trip.

im more concerned about the lemon title. i know 99/01s had there share of problems so i am wondering if many of them were lemon lawed. this sucks though just glad i checked it out

Ouch. Ya, I just wouldn't bother with it anymore. If you are really interested in it, tell him 8k or no deal.

I would leave that one alone. I say go for the Mach. Red is not my favorite color either (Comp Orange or Azure Blue) Buut you have to take what you can get when buying used.

my 99 wasnt lemon lawed, i think there must have been other issues other than the recall. you can find one for less. I would keep looking.

i got another call yesterday from the dealership but it was the business manager asking about credit stuff so i didnt bother mentioning anything about the car. they also dropped it to 11995 on the site since i talked to them orginally. i expect a call tomorrow hopefully

Someone on stangnet ran an oasis report on the 01 black vert and it came back perfectly clean so now i am confused. if it was lemon lawed then there should be record of a dealership working on it but there wasnt anything. maybe its just a mistake on the autocheck? i dunno but if i could get em down to 10k then id talk.

im leaning towards the mach 1 tho. 1 owner 36k miles stock. its a tough call though. old school muscular mach 1 w/ shaker etc or sexy 01 black cobra vert
