MGW vs Pro 5.0 vs Tri-Ax

I have read that the MGW is a very solid piece, and i'm really tossed up between that and the Tri-Ax as I have heard good things about both and they both claim to have the "shortest throw available," but then again I have also heard good things about the Pro 5.0 from what seems like die-hard fans of it. So, who has what, what do you think of it and would you buy it again if you had the choice? :TY:

I originally wanted the MGW but got a really good deal on a Tri Ax. I like it alot. Alot of guys, including myself, will tell you that the Tri Ax is alittle "notchy". As far as shift distance, they're all about the same. There isn't enough of a difference to notice. So, it's really up to you. I say, if you can, find some people with each of these S/T's and try'em out.

the pro 5.0 is really notchy, the triax is a very fluid feeling type shift, firm, yet still not to notchy. I've had both, at the same time, one in one car, another in the other. I enjoyed the pro 5.0 w/ a steeda blue handle, was my kind of shifter. But the triax is a more comfortable daily shifter.

So, if this thread is anything to go by, getting the Tri-Ax is the right choice. Anybody have a MGW or tried one before?

That's how all MGW owners are. Hell, even the Tri Ax owners are like that :dunno: I've heard a few Pro 5.0 guys say they wanted something different though.

Yea, I haven't heard anything bad about the MGW either, and the part that bothers me about the Tri-Ax is you guys getting good deals on them means that the people selling them were probably upgrading...right? lol

Heres the deal with shifters. The stock one sucks SO BAD that anything you get will be a hell of a lot better. All 3 are great shifters. Get the one you can get the cheapest.

The reason why i bought a triax for both of my mustangs is well because steeda has some of the best customer support and ive never had a problem out of getting stuff from them. Hence, i bought a triax.

I have driven them all...

And i cant stand the MGW. I hate it.

But I love my PRO 5.0 and can powershift it all day... And the steeda is alright, but nothing like the 5.0.

So, if they all cost exactly the same, the MGW seems to be the top pick for everyone...except Matt. But most people are able to find good deals on the Tri-Ax and that is the reason most of you got them, correct? And Matt, what don't you like about the MGW?

I had a TriAx for year's, and always hated it. I switched to a MGW when it first came out, and loved it, so much that I bought another for my T56, and another yet for the T56 in my Cobra.

Can't stand my TriAx. MGW going in next week... I have used the MGW in my friends T5, WOW what a difference. If I drove my GTS more it would have been gone sooner.

Just put in a TriAx last week and like the improvement over stock, it falls into gear without much effort and nice short throws...
but no experience with the 5.0 or MGW.
