I think he'd be getting about 14k for his car assuming your car has supporting mods and it looks clean it'd be work 6k - 7k so if you add that up to the extra 7k you'd be giving him he end's up okay plus he doesnt have to go looking for a car... i say go for it! you can alway pick up another sn for about 4k than needs some work and build that up...

ahh I dersonally do not like the S197's for the fact of electronic throttle and hydraulic clutch.... It is definatly a very clean very sharp looking car but they have their ups and downs.

Personally I would take the older vehicle in this case ( you know what you have in to it, what you need to do to it, what has been repalced and parts are going to be cheaper more available then a s197 right now)

Well I'm in college and this would be 10x the driver car and be alot more comfortable. The car needs a rear main, and could use some other parts on the 5.0. I figure I'd be getting 6k for my car basically. I'm just tired of it. Granted I know I'll miss it alot. It's up in the air. He's thinking about it, and i'm on the fence to.

any way you want to sum this up! you are coming out on the better end of this deal! assuming... well, did he offer the trade plus cash or did you? reason i ask is that if I owned an s197 i would not trade down to a sn95 that's just me! i look forward to the day when i can get one! so why trade down? i just hope there isn't something wrong with his car and he's looking to bail which leaves him a nice sn95 and 7k to hook it up!!! just be weary if he offered the trade!!!

welcome back to last year? LOL!

LOL last year was 20k, this year it's 7k. heh.

And I offered. I just saw the car on a local forum, just threw up the idea, he bit and looked at some pictures, loved it and was interested. He has an 03 cobra is why he's selling it, he bought it and now has no use for the S197. Who knows, just depends on insurance and a loan

just my opinion im 37 and the only reason why i dont have a better / newer stang is because I refuse to get a loan!!! my car is bought and paid for it owes me absolutely nothing! and has pretty much been completely rebuilt. I have the most extensive service history and the folder on my car includes everything from simple repairs, oil changes, mods, rebuilds!!! im not trying to tell you what to do but you know what is wrong with your car, what it needs, if it's paid off and something needs replacing then you can fix it! and all your out is the repair money if something breaks on a car that is financed the car will need to be fixed since it will most likely be your daily driver! on top of that you will still have to make payments while the car is down, and full coverage insurance which you cannot let lapse while the car is financed!!! i dunno but it seems like you are better of keeping yur car! and i dont wanna hear the b.s. these cars are not bad daily's if your suspension is shot get it upgraded and move onto other mods!

not a bad price IMO, I seen it over on s197forum and if I had extra money i'd go for it as well. I wish I could get it for my wife to play around in. I'd probably do the trade myself.

that is a great looking car imo, but i really don't like the interiors on the 05-09s.

+1, that car is just begging for a kenne bell! BUT, I hate the interior in those cars. I honestly do not know what I would do if I were you. What mods do you have?

all the suspensions done, and I mean everything. Control arms, springs, struts/shocks, sway bars, bushings, you name it, its done. Exhaust, and just bolt ons on the car. Otherwise it's alot of maintenance, new dizzy, all the sensors have been replaced, fixing random stuff. I'm leaning more toward the no side simply because of the time of year. I'm not to crazy about going out and getting a small loan right now since christmas is here.

True onyx. I'll just tell him I can't do 7k right now, just won't happen. Its a possibility that it won't really, but I have good credit and minimal amount of debt.
