so i went to a high performance shop in my area and was talkin to him about my car. i told him about the burning of oil and blue smoke out the exhaust. i also told him i only had 94,xxx miles on a 94 gt. he said no way thats the rings. because i thaught i was going to have to replace my piston rings.

he told me that it is more than likely its my valve guides or my valve guide seals.

what do you guys think?

it could be either or.. i know it's not what you want to hear, but unless you are the original owner( which i doubt) some of
the prevoius probably ran the shit out of it, so you never know what could be leaking or malfunctioning.

95 has the 9:1 c/r if i'm not mistaken. it should be around 130 psi on all cylinders and not fluctuate within 10% of eachother

sry bad pressure in close to all cylinders most likely means rings are bad.
bad pressure in just cylinders next to eachother could mean a blow headgasket
bad pressure in a cylinder by itself could mean the valve isn't sealing.

good pressure in all cylinders means your rings are good and valves are sealing the combustion chamber.

therefore if you have good pressure, then that means it's your valveguides or valve guide seals. meaning u won't have to rebuild.

After some recent track abuse (17 passes in one day) my motor has taken to burning quite a bit of oil, though strangely I don't have smoke. I just keep adding it - it's cheaper than a rebuild! :hammer:
